I love the Vo, but my heart has grown rather fond of this:
2015 BMW 320i Sport Package, Sunroof, Heated Seats, Manual Gearbox. Nothing less, nothing more. I can't decide on black or white though - I don't want to pay $600+ for sparkles in the paint... Pretty much a Jalop Edition 320 - except I need a sunroof and heated seats (first world problem).
I test drove one and it was perfect, I'm lacking power but the gearbox is better, and the handling is better.
I'm leaning towards white. I've already had a black car.

Yes, get the white.

Total price?

Don't do white, everyone gets a white BMW.

Get white.
Get the ECU flashed when you want more power. It's very close in specs to the N20 in the 328i.
This is the car I would buy if I needed one right now.

Make sure you opt for the optional turn signals. They're a rare option, so the car will really stand out with those.

but but but...
used E90 M3!

or black
everyone gets white or black
![]() 10/30/2014 at 20:01 |

everyone gets white because they dont want to pay the premium for the other paint

Having been at a BMW dealership shopping this weekend, I did happen to look at pretty much that exact one and I say, strongly, DO IT. I'd say get the white for some contrast if you want. I'm more of an all dark cars person myself but it is a looker in white.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 20:03 |
|
Eh, I'm getting the turn signal stalk removed by BMW for only $40.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 20:03 |

I really hate to admit it, 'cuz I'm literally going to fulfill the BMW Stereotype - I'm leasing it.

Go white, friend has the 320d in white and it looks sick even without the sport package.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 20:07 |

Can't beat that. Make sure you chop your arm off so you can't do hand signals either.

Nothing wrong with leasing. Some cars you are better off buying but BMW lease deals are too good to pass up. I would lease rather than buy if it financially made sense.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 20:10 |

Haha nothing to be ashamed of. I've leased cars.
And leasing also gives you an excuse for getting a new 320i instead of a used E90 M3 :)

Congrats! Can't wait to hear more about it.

Excellent choice..this was high on my list as well.

I get it. It's a BMW, but down to the bones of it, it's way overpriced for what it is. I know it was on Jalopnik's "best deal" list, but I vehemently object. It only has 180hp, no power seats, no AWD (may not be a bad thing depending on where you live), heated seats, auto-dim mirror, and xenon headlights are extra (wtf!) and it's $34k bone stock. Someone please explain to me why a sane person would buy this over an A4, a fully optioned WRX, or GTI

Nice! Go for black if you are okay with the upkeep of the paint if not definitely white.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 22:09 |

Awesome! I would go for the red because I like red in German Cars. Also, very eager to hear about it.

You know what needs to be done.
![]() 10/30/2014 at 23:39 |

How long will you have to wait for it?
![]() 10/31/2014 at 00:02 |

That's dope! I totally get the sunroof and heated seats. My car now has them and I can't go back haha

Because he wanted a RWD, manual? With snow tires, is also just fine in the snow. I've been doing it in German winters for ten years.

Congrats! Not sure if you live in an urban setting, but if you do any extended driving on rural roads I'd suggest getting the Xenons. Definitely worth the money for nighttime driving. If it's all well lit city, disregard.

No Estoril Blue option on the 220? Lame.

Are you going to do the european delivery?

+1 star for beating me to it lol
![]() 10/31/2014 at 12:15 |

Yeah, there is that too!
Too many good cars.

I love the E90 M3 so much that sometimes I think of getting another one. It would be fun to have a stick shift one go with the DCT one. If I got married then the wife could have DCT one and I would drive the Manuél one. Unless I had to go to LA for work, then we could swap. Rowing your own in rush-hour traffic in LA sucks.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 12:26 |
|
Yeah, if I lived in LA I would have to get a crappy automagic econobox, and leave the manual for the fun weekend car. My left knee has not been happy..
![]() 10/31/2014 at 14:53 |

The roads are terrible there. So many potholes. Drivers are aggressive. Traffic sucks. It's a hell hole.
I have the coolest solution for a cheap automatic car - Mercedes 190E or 300E.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 14:54 |
|
I would endorse that. My dad had a 260E. I loved that car.

The old Mercs were so damn solid. They were literally the best built cars in the world.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 16:10 |
|
They really were. I wish he kept it and gave it to me, but he *insisted* I get something new.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 16:15 |
|
nooooooooooo
you could have kept it and still go something new later! would have been cool to still own!
![]() 10/31/2014 at 16:21 |
|
Yep. Would have been a good car in college. Oh well.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:16 |
|
White ftw.
Leasing a car like this isn't a terrible proposition...it's going to depreciate like a mother anyways.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:37 |
|
So on the subject of your 997.2, have you considered TechArt springs? Might make the ride more tolerable.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:43 |
|
I have not. I assumed all after market springs would make the car stiffer!
I have considered Koni FSD dampers
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:47 |
|
Well, Sharkwerks brings up the TechArt springs, and it seem like the deliver a good ride.
Honestly, I'm surprised they did not mention KW coilovers. KW's are universally praised for excellent handling and fantastic ride quality.
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:48 |

*massive excitement ensues*
![]() 10/31/2014 at 17:58 |
|
I'm really wondering what is possible now.
If I can maintain or improve handling while improving ride quality that would be awesome!
![]() 10/31/2014 at 20:08 |
|
Make sure you get it in writing when the car will be in, dealers will bullshit you along the way.
![]() 11/01/2014 at 00:00 |

I hear they're pretty expensive, which is why most BMW driver end up with fake indicator lights, akin to the infamous fake buttons.

I decided to wait until January to place the order. I want my Volvo for the winter, as I have snow tires and AWD.
I'd rather not have a RWD BMW with All Season's for the Connecticut Winter.
![]() 11/01/2014 at 10:35 |
|
I'm delaying placing my order until January so I can have my Volvo in the winter.
However, I'm tempted just to say f*** it and spend $550 on Mojave Metallic.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 09:55 |
|
Can you special order it in brown? Then it'd be a true Jalop edition.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 10:21 |
|
I think the only other thing I would spring for is the lighting package. Also a first world problem.
![]() 11/06/2014 at 06:42 |

that color beats the pants off black and white. BMW has such nice grey's in person. I would definitely go that then maybe snap dem fingers make dem RIMMMMSSSSS black. But seriously such a nicer color.
